Employment Networking Services

CityBuild provides Employment Networking Services in both apprentice and journey level construction  opportunities. These employment opportunities encompass all trades for San Francisco job seekers. Information regarding CityBuild Employment Networking Services can be found here.  

 

Qualification Criteria

CityBuild provides Direct Referral Services to individuals that meet the following criteria:

• San Francisco Resident who is domiciled.
• Construction Union Member in good standing or Experienced   Construction Worker

CityBuild Academy graduates also qualify for Direct Referral Services.  For more information on the CityBuild Academy, click here.

How to Sign Up for CityBuild Direct Referral Services (Step-by-Step):

  

Step 1: Attend an Information Session

CityBuild hosts Information Sessions at the Mission Career Link Center located at 3120 Mission St, San Francisco CA  94110.  The Information Session schedule can be found here.
   

Step 2: Complete a CityBuild Certification Form

You may find the CityBuild certification form here.

Step 3:  Gather Documents in Advance

Prior to submitting the CityBuild application form, please gather the following documents:

• Proof of Identity.  Acceptable documents include:

CA Drivers License

• CA Identification Card

• SF City Identification Card

• Consular Identification Card

• US or foriegn passport

• Proof of domicile in San Francisco. Acceptable documents include utility bills, bank statements, public benefits letter, etc. Additional information about the required documentation can be found here.


• Proof of construction experience. Examples include proof of union membership, any construction related certifications, resume, etc.  



Step 4:
 Meet with CityBuild staff

Upon completion of Steps 1 through 3, please bring completed certification form and required documents to a CityBuild staff at CityBuild Drop-in hours.   Required documents can only be submitted during Drop-in hours every Monday, between 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Mission Street Career Link Center located at:

3120 Mission Street
San Francisco, CA, 94110

CityBuild will not accept any incomplete applications or applications with missing documents.

 

 

Signed Up with CityBuild: What’s next?

CityBuild clients can sign the Networking Eligibility List after completing Steps 1 through 4 above. Clients can sign the list any day the facilities are open at the Mission Career Link Center located at 3120 Mission Street.

 

Clients are also welcome to visit with CityBuild staff during the weekly Drop-in hours” which are every Monday (except Holidays), from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Mission Career Link Center located at 3120 Mission Street to get updates on construction opportunities.


Please note:  It is required that clients meet with CityBuild staff at least once a month to remain active on the Networking Eligibility List.

How to Sign Up for CityBuild Direct Referral Services (Step-by-Step):

  

Step 1: Attend an Information Session

CityBuild hosts Information Sessions throughout the One Stop Career Link Center system that you can attend to meet with CityBuild staff.  The Information Session schedule can be found here.   

Step 2: Complete a CityBuild Application Form

Step 3:  We need information about you

 Prior to submitting the CityBuild application form, please gather the following documents:

 

• Proof of Right to Work. Acceptable documents are a CA Drivers License and Social Security Card
• Proof of San Francisco Address. Acceptable documents are a CA Drivers License and City ID card. Additional information about the required documentation can be found here.
• Proof of Union Membership. Acceptable document is a Union Card

 

Step 4: Apply for a One Stop Swipe Card

Visit any one of the seven One Stop Career Centers and sign up for the One Stop Swipe Cards. The location of the One Stop Career Centers can be found here

Step 5:  Meet with CityBuild staff

Prospective clients will need to turn in all required documents as described in Steps 1 and 2 above to a CityBuild representative.   Required documents can only be submitted during “Drop-In Hours” every Monday, from 11am to 3pm at the Mission One Stop Career Center located at:
